Graduates that are preparing to be on boarded would need to therefore be mindful on the following key aspects to be an early jump starter into the corporate world and positively influence and impact any organizations expectations:

My 7 Key messages to the Graduates of these times joining Corporate world.

Building their Personal Brand (Outlook) - External Outlook and image creating the right impressions early and soon, social connect & behavior that is observed by the outside world, everyone is watching and eager to know the kind of topics the individual is connected, his / her connections, topics of interest and so on. It forms the impression.  Looking inward - Individuals Purpose, self image, would like to be known for..

Professionalism - Being Ethical, authentic, truthful - will serve the purpose of building the trust, respect. This should never be compromised.

Learning Mindset - Constantly adapting to learning needs, mindset to adopt to the changes around. Certainly not being obsessed at the technology level but looking at things holistically and be open for reskill and upskill along the way. The need not to look at being indispensable by holding  key knowledge but on the other hand share and spread the knowledge, use the wisdom of the peers to get fresh new perspective that will enable to get into the depth of it.

Getting into Drivers Seat -Taking control of the destination, creating milestones and taking control of navigating the journey. It is important to be courageous and yet take help and support along the way, in doing so it might be that failures are encountered, be mindful of the failures, acknowledge it and fail fast and early. The recovery from thereon will be a take off towards success.

Growth Mindset- Challenges, constraints, obstacles would be there all along, the need to look at it the Opportunist way and navigating through it with Circle of Influence and Personal accountability to wards it will be the key. The joy of transforming challenges into opportunities is the best high one can feel.  Growth mindset  for graduates would mean to challenge the norm, challenge the status quo, challenge the BAU.  Organizations would need to enable the right culture to promote it and with it provide them with the required psychological safety. HR Professionals have a serious role to play in this regard.

Teaming Up - Graduates that are individual centric in terms of knowledge, expertise and performance will have a great start but fade away sooner, the key to their success will be to be a Team Player. Corporates would need to invest in Graduates to understand the significance of teaming up on the flight, working in a matrix and fluid structures.  DevOps, scrum mode of working would require them to adopt to teaming culture. Once again HR Professionals will have a dominant role to play to influence and enable it.

Wellness,  Well Being & Social Community Influence  - Being a successful & inspirational professional would mean staying fit and healthy in mind and body.  Health & Wellness would hold key to have a successful marathon journey in corporate life and deal with stress & staying resilient.  Being a role model towards community social responsibilities together with it will give a sense of gratitude that life has offered and sharing it with the under privileged gives a lasting positive energy to keep moving forward and rising high into every walks of life.

The time has arrived to bring in all the energy, focus to nurture the young talent. The young talent brings in wisdom, hope & new ways and even disruptive thinking. Lets keep our minds open to listen to them and enable them with the right culture and mindset.
